Highly Secure Ex-NASA/DOD Facility
Our data center is moving into a world-class facility right in our own back-yard. On Dec 31, 2011, we will move our computer operations into the ex-NASA tracking station in Rosman, NC that has been converted into a large-scale data center:
- 33,000+ sq ft of data center ready space
- Buildings constructed to DOD standards: Raised Floors, fire protection, RF isolation
- HIPAA compliance: Access controls and Video surveillance
- 1 megawatt of backup capacity via an unlimited diesel backup
- 1 gigabit fiber internet feeds
And it’s just 30 minutes from our office and 10 minutes from Jeff’s house.
Practice what we preach
For 30 years, we’ve been warning companies to protect their mission-critical computers and applications from failures and costly outages. In the 1980s, that meant keeping the data center in-house. But with today’s network, clusters, virtualization, and hosted application technologies, companies are better protected in a cloud environment. This is very fitting among the satellite dishes at the facility that now watch the heavens!
What does it say about Automated Results if we suggest that you move your mission-critical IT to a state-of-the-art remote facility when we aren’t willing to do the same? So our offices will remain in downtown Brevard, NC with this remote data center in Rosman, NC.
Data Center Move Schedule
The move is well underway (fiber laid, cabinets in place, utilities tested, etc.); we are waiting for New Year’s Eve to complete the move. On Saturday, Dec 31st, 2011:
